Your community has spoken!
Wangaratta residents completed 223 community safety surveys in October 2019 to help identify the local safety concerns and service delivery expectations from police. If you completed an online survey via Engage Victoria, or were part of the many residents that shared your insights to police while they were on foot patrols or at the Wangaratta Show, thank you for your involvement
The results are in and the community identified that their:
- Top 3 safety concerns are alochol and other drugs; family violence; and road safety.
- Top 3 ideas to improve safety are increased police presence; education and programs; and public assets (street lighting, speed limits, etc).
- Overall, 82.06% of respondents were either Satisfied or Very Satisfied with local police.
What's next for local police in the Wangaratta area?
Local police have heard your feedback and will be implementing a number of changes over the next 12 months. At the completion of the 12 months (early 2021) local police will reach out to Wangaratta residents via another survey to find out how we're doing and whether priorities have changed.
