Recently Macedon Ranges residents were invited to participate in the Engage Victoria Community Safety Survey. We had over 550 responses to the survey, which was fantastic.

The results are in and the community has identified their top three safety concerns:

  1. Road Safety
  2. Safety of property and possessions
  3. Lack of a nearby 24-hour police station

The top three polices services you indicated add value to the community are:

  1. More foot patrols
  2. Attending community events
  3. Increased information sharing

What’s next for local police in the Macedon Ranges?

Local police have heard your feedback. In the short term, we have more members being trained to manage our Eyewatch page so we can increase our information sharing.

The up-coming implementation of the Victoria Police Neighbourhood Policing Framework will see a state-wide focus on listening to local communities, understanding local problems and targeting an appropriate response. Partnerships with local services and community members are critical to the framework’s success.

To stay up to date, join us on the Macedon Ranges Eyewatch page, where we will be providing regular updates on our community safety response.
