Your Community has spoken!

Warrnambool, Moyne and Corangamite residents completed more than 230 community surveys in December 2020 to help identify the local safety concerns and service delivery expectations from police. If you completed an online survey via Engage Victoria, a hard copy survey via your local police member or were part of the many residents that shared your insights to police while they were on foot patrols, thank you for your involvement.

The results

The results are in and the community identified that their:

Top 3 Community safety concerns are;
  1. Drug use/Possession/Trafficking/Harm – Alcohol Use
  2. Road Safety (Incorporating Drink/Drug Driving, Hoon behaviour, excessive speed)
  3. Assaults/Robbery/Theft/Fraud

Top 3 Ideas to Improve Community Safety are;
  1. Visible Police presence/foot patrols/bike patrols
  2. Community Forums/School Engagement/Attendance at Events
  3. Greater presence of Roads/Road safety

Overall 77% of respondents were either satisfied or very satisfied with local police.

What’s next for local police in the Warrnambool, Moyne and Corangamite area?

Local police have heard your feedback and will be implementing a number of strategies over the next 12 months. These strategies will be announced to community in the coming weeks. Quarterly; local police will engage with residents to find out how we’re doing and whether priorities need changing.
