Overview

Human beings are social creatures and as far back as we can trace, humans have thrived in social groups. Humans participate together in society through social groups, community activities, neighbourhoods, schools and workplaces. Connection to others helps to form our identity, teach us skills, improve our mental health, and enhance our quality of life.

We would like to better understand the social connections in the Latrobe Valley and to explore ways to improve health and wellbeing and a sense of belonging in our community. Your involvement in this process is important and we value your opinions and suggestions.

The 'Human Connections Latrobe' project is a collaboration with the Latrobe Health Advocate, the Latrobe Health Assembly (LHA), Latrobe City Council (LCC), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Latrobe Valley Authority (LVA).

Your views are important to us

Keeping you informed

Feedback from Latrobe Valley communities will help us learn about the value of social connections, how we can enhance our sense of belonging and how we can support and develop opportunities for people to connect.

Your opinions and suggestions will be used by project partners to identify any opportunities for change as well as any potential innovations that could be developed for our communities into the future.

Updates and insights from our community engagement will be shared on this site.
