The Small Business Regulation Review program is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to making it easier to establish and grow a small business in Victoria.
The Small Business Regulation Review program was announced in 2016 as part of the Victorian Government’s new approach to regulation reform.
The review looks through the eyes of small businesses at the regulations and processes they need to deal with to start and grow a business, and finds practical reforms to save businesses time and money.
A series of sector reviews
The program is made up of a series of reviews focusing on regulatory issues for small businesses within specific sectors.
- The first sector to be reviewed was Victoria’s retail sector. A Draft Action Statement was released in May 2017. The final reforms will be released in early 2018.
- The second review, looking at the visitor economy sector, commenced public consultation in June 2017. The Action Statement will be released in early 2018.
- The scope of the third review will be announced soon.
