Road Safety is a key and ongoing focus for the Victorian Government. The Victorian Government is committed to reducing unnecessary regulatory burden.

In line with this, the Department of Transport is reviewing the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations Interim Regulations 2020. The Regulations are being reviewed, as under the Road Safety Act 1986 they are automatically revoked on the tenth anniversary of their making.

The Department of Transport will now evaluate and consider all submissions and feedback received. Recommendation will be made to The Minister for Roads and Road Safety in relation to the proposed final Regulations.

Details relating to the new Regulations and the date they are due to come into effect will made available in the coming weeks.
