Overview

Road Safety is a key and ongoing focus for the Victorian Government. The Victorian Government is committed to reducing unnecessary regulatory burden.

In line with this, the Department of Transport is reviewing the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations Interim Regulations 2020. The Regulations are being reviewed, as under the Road Safety Act 1986 they are automatically revoked on the tenth anniversary of their making.

As part of this process, the Department is seeking feedback on draft proposed Regulations and a number of other associated policies.

The Exposure Draft of the proposed Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2021 and Regulatory Impact Statement are now available for comment and consideration. These documents can be found below.

All feedback will be considered in the development of the final Regulations.
