Consultation paper

The VCAA has been asked by the Minister for Education, the Hon James Merlino MP, to consider whether there should be an explicit requirement for students to meet minimum standards of literacy and numeracy in order to be awarded the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL). The Minister has asked the VCAA to consult widely and to provide a report by the end of August 2018.

In responding to this request, the VCAA has developed the below Consultation Paper, which provides a focus for the discussion and presents background information related to the reporting of literacy and numeracy attainment as part of senior secondary qualification.
