Roadmap to Zero (R2Z)
Global climate action aims to keep warming below two degrees Celsius. To do this we need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero* by 2050.
The Grampians region is well-placed to benefit from this transition. There will be new jobs, skills and training. Businesses will become more efficient with energy, materials and waste. Investment in renewable energy development will flow into our communities.
The Grampians Roadmap to Zero (R2Z) is led by the Grampians New Energy Taskforce (GNET) with input from local industry, government and community groups. Development of the document is funded by the Victorian Government through DELWP.
The Roadmap to Zero shows the way we can transition together to benefit our region, our economy and our people.
*Net zero means that greenhouse gas emissions are reduced as much as possible. Carbon farming and revegetation offset those emissions that can’t be stopped.
