The Renewable Energy Roadmap for the Bass Coast and South Gippsland Shire areas is a strategy for identifying new renewable energy opportunities and how the benefits can be shared with local communities, businesses and our regional economy. These new opportunities are arising from the transformation in our energy system as we move from ageing coal fired electricity to distributed systems of renewable energy. Local residents, organisations and businesses from the Bass Coast and South Gippsland region are invited to help create the region’s renewable energy future by completing the survey, adding to the interactive map and through participation in workshops and meetings. All these contributions will feed into and guide the Renewable Energy Roadmap.

Focussing on Bass Coast and South Gippsland, this project will bring a broad range of people together to discuss and synthesise renewable energy aspirations into an agreed vision. It will identify and articulate local opportunities and challenges, and produce an informed account of this sub-region’s renewable energy potential. The Roadmap will include both key opportunities and a set of recommendations to guide government, community and business on pathways for realising these opportunities.

Residents, holiday homeowners, agricultural and other business owners, people from local government, water authorities and industry are all invited to contribute through the survey and interactive map below. Your responses will help inform the Roadmap and guide workshops and meetings that are being held across the Bass Coast and South Gippsland Shire areas between May and October 2019.

We appreciate you giving us your time in completing the survey, which will take between 25 and 30 minutes and for putting your ideas on the map. Further information and updates on the project, including future workshops and providing feedback on the draft Roadmap, can be found here www.eico-op.org.au

Responses you give in the survey will remain anonymous and will not be attributed to you personally in any meetings, forums or reports. If you provide us with your contact details we will respond to requests for further information that you make and may contact you in relation to your survey responses to seek further input or clarification.
