Fire has caused significant damage to Sandringham Primary School, in particular to the west wing, south wing, and library. It is likely that much of the external heritage-listed brick wall façade can be saved.
Initial works have taken place to ensure the remaining buildings are safe and weatherproof. We will be undertaking demolition works until Easter.
The school is an active construction site, and cannot be accessed by staff, students or the community until further notice.
All students have been temporarily relocated to Sandringham East Primary School and Sandringham College to ensure their classes continue and they have the facilities they need. Support services, including counselling, have been made available to staff and students.
From term two, students will move into a temporary village at Sandringham College until 2022
