Overview

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs is considering whether to make an interim protection declaration in relation to a Barengi Gadjin Aboriginal place known as Dyurrite 1 pursuant to section 96 of the Act.

Dyurrite 1 is located on the west side of Centenary Park Road (GDA 94 Easting co-ordinate 576020, Northing co-ordinate 5930699) located on Crown Allotment 80A, Parish of Arapiles, at Mt Arapiles-Tooan State Park, described as a fallen block from an adjacent rock outcrop.

The proposed interim protection declaration will affect an area of approximately 300m2. A copy of the proposed Approved Form and a plan of the Aboriginal place, known as Dyurrite 1, can be found below.

Before making an interim protection declaration, the Minister must give any person who the Minister reasonably considers likely to be affected by the proposal written notice of the proposal and provide all people given notice the opportunity to be heard with respect to the proposal.

Persons who are likely to be affected by the proposal to make the interim protection declaration in relation to Dyurrite 1 shall be given the opportunity to be heard.
