2017 Regional Assembly

Around 200 people - including 170 community members - attended our 2017 Ovens Murray Assembly in Wodonga in July.

At the 2017 Regional Assembly, we were keen to let you know about progress that has occurred on priorities identified at our 2016 Assembly.

We also wanted to have a forward looking conversation about opportunities to encourage new ideas and stimulate innovation in our region, as well as hearing about new and emerging issues for Ovens Murray.

The main topics discussed at the 2017 Assembly were:

  • Entrepreneurship and startups
  • Smart technology
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Agriculture
  • Environment
  • Transport
  • Collaboration
  • Education and Employment

The Partnership will now consider all the information gathered at the Assembly, and through our wider engagement, and present this to Government to feed into the 2018/19 Budget process.

In 2016, following our Regional Assembly and consultation process, the Ovens Murray Regional Partnership identified funding for cycle tourism as one of our top priorities.

As a direct result of efforts by the Regional Partnership, the Victorian Government allocated $12 million in the 2017/18 Budget to strengthen the reputation of North East Victoria as a world class cycling destination.
