We are upgrading the car park at North Shore Station to make it easier to catch the train.
This will include new lighting and CCTV for security, landscaping, and bicycle parking to make it easier for people to cycle to the station and connect to public transport.
A new car park will be built with at least 140 spaces and there will be upgrades to the existing car park to deliver a total of 200 new and upgraded spaces, as well as four new accessible spaces.
Planning and design for the new car parking is underway, with construction to begin in 2022 and works scheduled to be complete before the end of 2022.
The project is being delivered by VicTrack through the Car Parks for Commuters program. The program is helping to deliver the Victorian Government’s commitment of 11,000 new and upgraded car parks at stations across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
How to participate
The survey seeking input on the concept layout for the car park have now closed. The feedback will be used to inform the detailed design and construction process for the car park. A summary of the community feedback will be available as a report here shortly. You can still keep informed about the project by subscribing for email project updates below.
You can also sign up for project updates.
Key considerations for the design of the car park include:
- Traffic flow and pedestrian access in and out of the car park
- Minimising the impact of the construction and operation of the car park on residents and the environment
- Safety and security
- Future local transport planning
Site assessments will help us to better understand how to manage the design and construction.
We will keep you informed about progress along the way, and how your input has informed the final design and delivery of the car park projects.
