North East Link is more than just Victoria’s biggest road project – it’s the biggest ever investment in Melbourne’s north-east.

We’re fixing the missing link in Melbourne’s freeway network with Victoria’s longest twin road tunnels from Bulleen to Watsonia.

We’re also completing the Ring Road in Greensborough, overhauling the Eastern Freeway, delivering Melbourne’s first dedicated busway and building the North East Trail - more than 34km of new and upgraded walking and cycling paths.

Over the last 4 years, we’ve worked with the community to progress the design and taken the opportunity to deliver the additional benefits people have asked for.

You can see the project design, including how this massive program of work will bring Melbourne’s road, bus and bike network together on the North East Link website.

Before construction gets underway, we’ll prepare and exhibit Urban Design and Landscape Plans (UDLPs) so local people can have a further say on the design for their area.

As we prepare for this next stage of community consultation to start from next year, we want to better understand what local people are interested in and how you would like to be kept up to date.

How to participate

While we're getting UDLPs ready for your local area, let us know what you're most interested to know about next and how you'd like us to stay in touch with you.

Watch the project design video, visit our website and take the survey to tell us what you’re most interested to know more about next.

If you feel you may be directly impacted by the project or would like to talk to us about your individual circumstances, please contact the North East Link Project team on 1800 105 105.

A translation service for languages other than English is available on 03 9209 0147.

Next steps

Your survey responses will be used to identify key areas of interest in local areas and help shape how we keep people up to date as the project progresses ahead of the public exhibition of UDLPs.

The UDLP for the North East Link Tunnels will be on exhibition in 2022. UDLPs for other elements of the project, including upgrades to the M80 Ring Road and Eastern Freeway, will be on exhibition from 2023.

Details of individuals who provide feedback will not be shared publicly.
