Overview

Construction is underway on the site of the $1.5 billion new Footscray Hospital – the largest ever health infrastructure project in the state.

Scheduled to open in 2025, the new hospital will support the increasing demand from Melbourne's booming western suburbs, ensuring families can get the care they need close to home.

The Victorian Health Building Authority, in partnership with Western Health and the Plenary Health consortium, are planning to ground a time capsule on the site of the new hospital.

The purpose of the time capsule is to capture this unique time in our history and to represent the community spirit of Footscray and the West.
