Overview

The Markham Avenue site redevelopment will deliver more housing opportunities for Victorians. There will be no sale of public land in this housing redevelopment.

The Markham Avenue site is one of the Big Housing Build’s fast-start projects.

Previous feedback

There have been a number of improvements to the initial design in response to feedback from the community and council.

The revised design has:

  • reduced the number of buildings and number of apartments
  • increased the number of public housing dwellings in comparison to affordable housing dwellings
  • retained more mature trees and provided additional areas for new trees to be planted

    We’ll use your feedback to refine the final designs and guide communication with the local community during the construction period.

    Following the outcomes of the procurement process, we’ll start construction in May 2021.
