Home Ground Advantage - shaping the future of our major sporting stadia
As part of a wider commitment to keep the state ahead of the game in the highly competitive major sporting and events market, the Victorian Government formed a Ministerial Working Group to assess and determine the future needs of Victoria’s major sporting stadia and arenas.
The Ministerial Working Group was be led by Premier Daniel Andrews and includes the Treasurer, Minister for Sport, Minister for Tourism and Major Events, Minister for Major Projects, and Minister for Planning.
The Victorian Government recognises the importance these major stadia have in shaping our community and the integral part that our major stadia play in the lives of Victorians. That’s why we invited all Victorians to tell us what’s important to them.
The Victorian Government is proud to have worked with a wide range of partners and stakeholders that make up the Victorian sport and recreation system to develop Home Ground Advantage – Victorian Stadia Strategy.
Home Ground Advantage delivers a game plan that focuses on major oval and rectangular field based stadia and indoor arenas which host national and international men’s and women’s sporting competitions and entertainment events.
