On behalf of the Victorian Government, the Level Crossing Removal Project is removing 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2025.

The Werribee Street level crossing in Werribee will be removed by elevating the rail line over the road.

Removing this level crossing will improve safety, provide more consistent travel times and improve connections between the north and south sides of the train line.

Setting up the site

We’re continuing to set up our site compound on Cottrell Street in Werribee, with construction set to begin in the coming months. This will ensure a safe and efficient work environment is created for our workers and the local community.

We’re also continuing to locate and relocate underground services, clear vegetation to make way for construction and install safety fencing around the project area.
