UPDATE: This form has now closed.
The Victorian Government has fast-tracked removal of the dangerous and congested level crossings at Surrey Hills and Mont Albert. We’re removing the level crossings by lowering the tracks into an open trench and building a new, premium station with better facilities and more services.
Following the release of updated designs and enhancements, we’re now seeking your feedback on 5 proposed names for the new premium station.
Your input will help determine the new station name that will connect the communities of Surrey Hills and Mont Albert.
There are statutory rules that govern how places are named in Victoria and the process for naming them. The Victorian Government will review community feedback and determine the final name from the list of 5 options below.
The 5 proposed names are based on the location for the new station and we would like to hear your feedback on these options.
The 5 proposed names are:
- Surrey Hills Station (based on the location of the station car parks)
- Mont Albert Station (based on the location of the station concourses and platforms)
- Beresford Station (based on the proximity of the station to Beresford Street)
- Union Station (based on proximity of the station to Union Road)
- Surrey Albert Station (based on the new station serving two localities)
How to participate
Complete the station naming feedback form below by 11.59pm Sunday 21 November.
Following community consultation, a name will be confirmed in early 2022.
