On behalf of the Victorian Government, the Level Crossing Removal Project is removing 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2025.

The Robinsons Road, Deer Park level crossing will be removed by building a road under the rail line.

This level crossing has been fast tracked for removal, with the project to be complete by 2023.

The Robinsons Road boom gates can be down for up to 45 per cent of the morning peak, when up to 37 trains run through the crossing. Current network plans involve increasing trains running on the Geelong and Ballarat lines, meaning more boom gate downtime.
