On behalf of the Victorian Government, the Level Crossing Removal Project is removing 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Melbourne by 2025.

In May 2018, we removed the level crossing at Lower Plenty Road in Rosanna, opened the new Rosanna Station, and finished duplicating a 1.2-kilometre section of track between Heidelberg and Rosanna on the Hurstbridge line.

Before their removal, the boom gates at Lower Plenty Road were down for 43 minutes of the two-hour morning peak, causing delays for around 17,000 vehicles.
