The Victorian Government is investing $3 billion in the Frankston line to improve safety, reduce congestion and allow for more trains to run more often.

The level crossings at Neerim Road and Glen Huntly Road in Glen Huntly will be two of the 18 crossings removed along the Frankston line, the most on any rail line in Melbourne.

The project will involve:

  • Removal of two level crossings at Neerim Road and Glen Huntly Road
  • Building a trench to lower the rail line under Neerim Road and Glen Huntly Road
  • Building a new and modern Glenhuntly Station
  • Track and signalling work at Caulfield

Early works to remove these dangerous and congested level crossings will start in 2021. We are targeting removal of the boom gates in 2023 with project completion in 2024, one year ahead of schedule.
