We will soon seek approval to amend the Casey and Greater Dandenong planning schemes to help facilitate project works on the Cranbourne Line Upgrade.

Along with the duplication of eight kilometres of track, this process specifically focuses on the removal of the level crossing at Greens Road, Dandenong South.

While most of the construction will occur within the existing rail corridor and is consistent with the current zoning of the land, an amendment to the Casey and Greater Dandenong planning schemes will be sought from the Minister for Planning.

The proposed amendment applies a site-specific planning control via an incorporated document which includes a number of conditions that will need to be met to the satisfaction of the Minister for Planning.

The proposed conditions may include considerations relating to urban design and environment management.

Further information on the project and the associated PSA is available in our FAQs, and in the Cranbourne Line Upgrade Land Map and Explanatory Report.

We will use your feedback to understand what is important to the community, and what we need to consider as we finalise the PSA request documentation and develop detailed designs.

A summary of all submissions and feedback is also provided to the Minister for Planning as part of a formal request for planning approval.
