Kaufland Australia Pty Ltd has requested that the Minister for Planning change the planning scheme provisions that apply to the land at 266 Maroondah Highway, Chirnside Park to facilitate the development of a supermarket-based store. The Minister for Planning has referred the proposal to the Kaufland Stores in Victoria Advisory Committee.
Kaufland Stores in Victoria Advisory Committee
The Kaufland Stores in Victoria Advisory Committee ('the Advisory Committee') has been appointed to consider the proposed planning scheme provision changes and public submissions made in response to it in accordance with the Kaufland Stores in Victoria Terms of Reference. The Advisory Committee will provide independent advice to the Minister for Planning on the on all relevant planning matters associated with the location, development and use of the planning proposal.

Exhibition and submissions
Submissions were invited over a 20 business day period.
Submissions to the Kaufland Stores in Victoria Advisory Committee closed on 26 October 2018.
A Directions Hearing will be held at 10.00am on Friday 2 November 2018 at Planning Panels Victoria. Planning Panels Victoria is located at Ground Floor, 1 Spring Street, Melbourne. The Committee issued written directions which can be viewed in the Document Library.
The Public Hearing will commence from 23 November 2018. The Hearing Timetable can be viewed in the Document Library.
The purpose of the Public Hearing is to give people an opportunity to speak in support of their written submission.
The Advisory Committee submitted its Tranche 1 report to the Minister for Planning on 7 February 2019.
