We’re planning improvements to the Calder Freeway transport corridor, including investigating the design of a new interchange at Calder Park Drive to improve access on and off the freeway.

We’re currently investigating:

  • the design of a new interchange at Calder Park Drive over the Calder Freeway, including potential relocation and/or closure of existing entrance points
  • road improvements to Calder Park Drive to improve traffic flow and safety in the area.

Timelines and milestones will be determined through this planning work and a Business Case is being developed.

This planning work supports targeted upgrades on the Calder Freeway between Gap Road in Sunbury and the M80 Ring Road, which are being investigated by the Department of Transport. It also supports planning work to remove the Calder Park Drive level crossing, which is being managed by the Level Crossing Removal Project. This work is being coordinated to support the development and growth of the area.
