WestWind Energy are proposing to build a wind farm comprising up to 231 wind turbines located to the south, south east and west of Rokewood within the Golden Plains Shire.

The Minister for Planning has asked WestWind Energy to prepare an Environment Effects Statement in order to assess potential effects on the environment.

The Environment Effects Statement will be assessed by the Minister for Planning, and inform the decision-making for the project's approval.

The draft Environment Effects Statement scoping requirements for the proposed Golden Plains Wind Farm were on public exhibition for a period of 15 business days.

Feedback will inform the final scoping requirements that will provide guidance on what must be included in the preparation of an Environment Effects Statement.

The final scoping requirements will be made publicly available and there will be further opportunity for public consultation when the Environment Effects Statement is completed and exhibited.
