The Proposal

The land at 419-421 Upper Heidelberg Road, Ivanhoe has been determined surplus to the Victorian Government’s current and future requirements. Development Victoria is a Victorian Government development agency. It has partnered with Yarra Valley Water to facilitate the renewal and planning for the site.

Development Victoria, on behalf of Yarra Valley Water, has requested that the planning provisions for the site be changed to reflect that it is no longer required for public use and to allow for the sale and redevelopment of the site. The existing council park at 419 Upper Heidelberg Road is also included in the proposed changes to the site. A land swap arrangement between Yarra Valley Water and Banyule City Council is proposed.

The site is approximately 7,700 sqm in size and contains a former Yarra Valley Water operational tank, mature trees and an existing local park.

The Minister for Planning has referred the proposal to the independent Government Land Standing Advisory Committee for consideration and to provide recommendations on the suitability of the proposed planning scheme changes below:
