The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning in conjunction with the Essential Service Commission, is looking at options to streamline the gas-fired boiler and water heated efficiency testing procedure specified in Parts 37 and Part 38 of the VEU program.

  • Part 37 Activity: Replacement of a gas-fired steam boiler with a high efficiency gas-fired steam boiler.
  • Part 38 Activity: Replacement of a gas-fired water boiler or water heater.

The consultation will collect stakeholder feedback on proposed changes that aim to improve cost and accessibility barriers for the uptake of these activities.

A consultation paper has been prepared to facilitate greater understanding of our work so far and the proposed activity. Key questions are raised throughout the consultation paper on which we seek your feedback. Please submit your responses using the Engage Victoria web page.

Your feedback will be used to assist us in making decisions around the final form of the proposed activity, and to identify potential issues or risks which the activity may introduce.
