The Victorian Government has been working with the Mildura and Northern Mallee community to understand their views on how health care services are planned for the future. The Department of Health and Human Services undertook community consultation on the preferences and views regarding the provision of public health care services in Mildura and surrounding areas, from 11 October 2018 to 28 February 2019. We listened to what the community had to say and on 23 August 2019 the Minister for Health, The Hon Jenny Mikakos MP announced that the Mildura Base Hospital would be transitioned back to public sector management.
