Draft Planning Scheme Amendment GC81 to the Melbourne and Port Phillip Planning Schemes has been prepared to implement the vision for Fishermans Bend through a suite of permanent controls and a new Fishermans Bend Framework Plan.
The Fishermans Bend Planning Review Panel
The Fishermans Bend Planning Review Panel has been appointed to consider the draft Planning Scheme Amendment GC81 affecting Melbourne and Port Phillip planning schemes and public submissions made in response to it in accordance with the Fishermans Bend Planning Review Panel Terms of Reference. The Fishermans Bend Planning Review Panel will provide independent advice to the Minister for Planning on the appropriateness of the draft Planning Scheme Amendment GC81 and Framework Plan as a result of recommendations made to the planning scheme amendment.
A Directions Hearing will be held on 10.00am, Wednesday 20 December, 2017 at Planning Panels Victoria, 1 Spring Street, Melbourne.
The purpose of the Directions Hearing is to:
- consider any preliminary or procedural issues and give directions about the conduct of the Hearing including the exchange of any expert witness reports
- make arrangements for the Hearing, including the Timetable and Hearing venue
- answer any questions people may have about the Hearing.
You should attend the Directions Hearing if:
- you are unfamiliar with the Planning Review Panel process and wish to participate in the Public Hearing process
- you have any questions about the Planning Review Panel process or wish to raise any procedural issues.
A Public Hearing will be held the week commencing 12 February, 2018 at Planning Panels Victoria and is expected to be completed in approximately four to five weeks. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to give people an opportunity to speak in support of their written submission.
In conducting the Public Hearing, the Fishermans Bend Review Panel may limit the time of parties appearing before it using the following time frames as a guide:
- Local council - 3 hours
- Land owner - 2 to 3 hours
- Agency or statutory authority - 1 hour
- Community group - 1 hour
- Individual - 30 minutes
A Hearing Timetable will be prepared following the Directions Hearing based on the information collected in the submission form below.
