DGL Environmental have applied for a long-route licence for changes to their existing licence.

DGL’s facility is located at 19 Little Boundary Road, Laverton North.

The applicant operates a lead acid batteries recycling facility. The facility includes machinery to break the end-of-life batteries into their component parts.

DGL Environmental submitted an Approvals Pathway form to EPA in 2020. It provided further information regarding its application following a request from EPA. The full application can be viewed in the 'Supporting documents’ section of this page.

For more information on the works approval and long-route application processes see EPA works approvals (publication 1523).

What this application proposes

The application proposes to amend the existing licence to include scheduled activity A02 (Other waste treatment).

The proposed variation to the licence will support the battery recycling activities and DGL has advised that there will not be any resulting increase in traffic or noise. Independent air quality monitoring will continue.

In lieu of a face to face information session, we encourage the community to ask questions about the long-route licence approval process for DGL Environmental's proposal here.
