Cleanaway Daniels Services Pty Ltd (Cleanaway) have submitted a development licence application (APP002747) to the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA). Cleanaway is proposing to temporarily store medical waste, classified as R100 (biomedical waste), R120 (pharmaceutical products) and R130 (cytotoxic substances), at 23 McDowall’s Road East Bendigo.

What does the application propose?

Cleanaway is proposing to temporarily store medical waste at 23 McDowall’s Road East Bendigo. The premises currently has a warehouse constructed onsite which would be utilised to store the waste prior to dispatch to a disposal facility. Approximately 10-20 tonnes per day of waste is expected to arrive to the facility and be stored for up to two days.

A planning permit was granted on 26 March 2021 by the City of Greater Bendigo for the proposed activity.
