The creative industries are an evolving mix of sectors spanning arts, culture, screen, music, design, games development, fashion, publishing, advertising and more.
Collectively these industries contribute $31 billion to the state economy and employ 260,000 Victorians.
Across all disciplines, Victoria’s creative industries are driven by a powerhouse of small organisations, micro businesses and sole practitioners, comprising the vast majority of the sector.
They operate within a creative ecosystem that extends from iconic cultural attractions and global businesses to educational institutions, government bodies and community groups.
Victoria’s creative industries work on a global stage and they contribute to local communities at a grass roots level. They reflect, define and animate Victoria’s identity and our way of life.
