Creative Victoria is seeking views from across the state’s creative community to inform its next four-year Creative Industries Strategy (Creative State 2), for the period 2020-2024, following on from Creative State: Victoria’s First Creative Industries Strategy 2016-2020.

A primary action of Creative State was the development of the First Peoples Action Plan for the Creative Industries 2018-2020, also due for review in 2020.

It is therefore vitally important that the next Creative Industry Strategy includes First Peoples creative industries voices, aspirations and self-determination, building on the Action Plan and informed by the current and future needs of Victoria’s First Peoples Creative Industries organisations, businesses and individuals.

To ensure this we are holding a number of dedicated First Peoples Creative State

Consultation Workshops across Victoria throughout August 2019.

These consultation workshops are being offered as well as the nine general Creative State 2 Consultations being held across the state which you are also most welcome to attend.

Creative Victoria’s approach to developing Victoria’s next creative industries strategy is underpinned by four guiding principles: First Peoples first, Whole of state, Whole of ecosystem, All voices welcome. All First Peoples living in Victoria, whatever their connection to the creative sector, are invited to contribute their insights and ideas relating to the issues, challenges and opportunities ahead for Victoria’s First Peoples creative industries.

As part of the First Peoples consultations Creative Victoria will also be discussing the new funding opportunities, including the First Peoples Investment Program and Traineeships, to be delivered over the next 18 months.
