Overview

The Essential Services Commission determines maximum fares for unbooked commercial passenger vehicle services in Melbourne, Ballarat, Bendigo, and Geelong. The most common unbooked commercial passenger vehicles are taxis, hailed either from a rank or from the street.

We are currently reviewing the maximum fares for unbooked commercial passenger vehicle services.

We are seeking input from stakeholders on whether maximum fares for commercial passenger vehicles should change.
