Welcome

Welcome to our co-design course

A few things you need to know about this course

  1. We are using Miro for this course. It is like an online whiteboard or wall so if you haven’t used it before, please let us know or have a play with the functions here.
  2. During the sessions we will have some Buddy tasks, we will email you the details of the buddy groups. We think buddies are a great was to reflect on tasks, get to know someone new and catch-up if you miss a class. Set a time up in your diary with your buddy for the next 5-weeks!
  3. We use some very specific words in this course, so if you have a moment take a look at the Partnering in healthcare framework and download a copy of our glossary.

Our format is 5 x 2-hour online sessions, plus an hour of conversation or reflection with another participant. The rhythm of the course is 10-15 minute chunks of presentations followed by discussions or activities. We start a bit high-level and general refining as we go.

We start with theory and then put it into practice. Over 50% of the sessions will be interactive activities in groups. We are using a collaborative tool called Miro to capture or thinking so we can share our ideas and resources at the end of the course.

We deliver this course online using Microsoft Teams for our online meetings, Engage Victoria as a place to hold our content and we use Miro whiteboard to run collaborative activities. WE know these technologies can be tricky, so let us know in advance if you'd like a tutorial on how to use them with confidence.

That really is life, it's ok. We will pair you with a buddy, this person is your anchor to the course. They will be your guide if you miss a session and someone you will complete activities with weekly. We will not be recording the sessions but sharing slides and activities here on this site.

We want everyone in this course to participate as much as they want and can. taking care of each other is everyones business but if there is something our facilitators can help you with contact them with questions or suggestions
