Overview

The Victorian Government is committed to addressing climate risk and understanding what it means both now and into the future.

The Transport Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan 2022-2026 proposes actions for the Transport system to address climate change and develop a deeper understanding of its implications.

The Transport Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan presents strategies to prepare for adaptation across the whole lifecycle of the Transport system, and strategies to respond to changes in external impacts. It presents fifteen actions to address, plan and prepare transport assets, infrastructure and services for climate change risks over the next five years.

This Transport Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan is the first in a series of five-year plans that will take Victoria to 2050. It provides the building blocks for a Victorian Transport system that will be climate-resilient by 2050.

As part of this process, feedback is being sought on the Transport Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan 2022-2026 and its associated actions and priorities.

The Transport system includes cars, trucks, buses, bikes, people walking, trains, trams, boats, and ports. It is one of seven systems creating Climate Change Adaptation Action Plans.
