Introduction
We’re building a new primary school in the Melton area. The school will accommodate up to 475 students from Prep to Year 6.
Funding to buy the site for the new school was provided last year in the 2016-17 State Budget.
This year, in the 2017-18 State Budget, funding has been provided for design and construction of the new school.
The architect’s designs for the school will be developed in consultation with the local community.
We plan to begin construction in early 2018, and finish by the end of the year.
The new school will open for Term 1, 2019.
What kind of school do you want?
We want to hear from you – students, parents, educators, residents, business owners – all the people who make up the local community.
We want to hear about your vision for the new Burnside Primary School. How can we achieve a system that puts learners and learning at the centre? How can we ensure schools that supports diversity and student wellbeing? How can use make our schools sustainable and make use of state-of-the-art technology? And how can we get the community involved?
Your feedback will be provided to the Victorian School Building Authority and the architects who will be designing the school. With your ideas and perspective, we will deliver excellence in education.
Have your say
We were keen to gather a wide range of local input into the new school design, and provided you with two options to have your say - the comment board or the online survey.
